He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Scharmer and Arvilla Scharmer. He is survived by: his wife Susie; his sons, Jon (Edward) and Jeff (Joan); his granddaughters, Katelyn of Emily and Gabriella; his great grandchildren, Teddy, Beau, Freddie, George and Larry; and his siblings, Loie (Jeff), Lee and Loren.

Memorials are preferred to the Winona D.A.C.
