It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan E. Papenfuss of Winona, Minnesota, who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Lubinski and Stella Lubinski (Scharmach); her former husband George L. Merchlewitz; her husband Wayne Papenfuss; and her siblings, John, Clarence, Roman and Rosemary Riska.
She is survived by: her children, Blaise "Buzz" Merchlewitz (Sherri), Bonita Byer (James) and Jorja Mottayaw (Carl); her grandchildren, Travis Byer (Ina) and Brooke Sanders (David); her great grandchildren, Flynn, Lena and Kayden; and her stepchildren, Judy Losinski (Joe), Dwayne Papenfuss (Aletta), Debra Kennebeck (Dale) and Betty Reeves (Mike). She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
