He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sr. Burns and Thecla Burns (Thesing); his siblings, Anthony Burns, Pat Burns, Thecla, Kathleen and Darlene; and his siblings-in-law, Ron Czaplewski, Bob Schossow, Frank Norton, John Bauer, Roy Huebner, Nell Burns and Katie Czaplewski.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Czaplewski; his daughter Wendy Erdmann (Thomas); his grandchildren, Matthew and April; his siblings, Tim Burns of Dallas, TX, William Burns (Marion) of Winona, Jim Burns (Sue) of Winona, Denny Burns (Donna) of Winona, Rita Norton of Lake City and Mary Speltz (Joe) of Winona; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Burns of Rochester, Jean Czaplewski of Winona, Lawrence Putzier of St. Charles and LeRoy Czaplewski of Winona; and also Derik Bischel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
