She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Reiner and Helena Reiner (Strobel); and her sister Esther (Marvin). She is survived by: her husband David Blackstad of Windom; and her brother Fred Reiner (Darlene) of Illinois.

Millie also belonged to the Minnesota Music Teachers Association, National Music Teachers Association, National Federation of Music Clubs, community band and RSVP program.
