It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James LeRoy Nelson of Windom, Minnesota, born in Comfrey, Minnesota, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Nelson and Adeline Nelson (Elg); his son-in-law Brian Winters; and his siblings-in-law, Doug Johnson, Jay Locke, Dale Bacon, Dennis Arduser and Carol Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Nelson of Windom; his children, Peggy Winters of Windom, Dan Nelson (Holly) of Tucson, AZ and Jody Nelson (Katarina) of Silverthorne, CO; his siblings, Lynda Arduser of Madelia, Donavan Nelson of Windom and Gary Nelson (Joleen) of St. James; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Locke (Bacon) of Warner Robins, GA, Doris Bacon of Windom and Allen Bacon of Reynolds, IN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
