It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emily Axford of Windom, Minnesota, who passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Schaffer and Margaret Schaffer (Savage); her husband Charles Axford; her daughter Barbara Ann Axford; her granddaughter Janet; her siblings, Kermit Schaffer, Ellen Schaffer, Mary Choiniere (Paul) and Katherine Soleta (Lennie); her parents-in-law, Angus and Esther Axford; and her siblings-in-law, William Axford (Shirley), Audrey Carter (Dale), Robert Axford (Kathleen), Douglas Axford, Marilyn Fisk (Harlen), Frances Schaffer and Gail Schaffer.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Svoboda of Windom, Floyd Axford (Barb) of Windom, Katherine Hansen (Jens) of Windom and Bruce Axford of Windom; her grandchildren, John Svoboda (Terri) of Jackson, Daniel Svoboda of Windom, Jason Axford (Angie) of Amerit, Brian Axford (Heidi) of Spirit Lake, IA, Amanda Axford of Farmington, Justin Axford (Katie) of Windom, Jennifer Hosmer (CT) of Volga, SD and Elizabeth Eich (Matthew) of Volga, SD; and her siblings, Leslie Schaffer of Windom, Jack Schaffer (Rosemary) of Windom, Donald "Tom" Schaffer of Windom and Dorothy Schaffer of Mankato. She is also survived by 19 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
