He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Moon and Hazel Moon; his former wife Jacqueline Erickson; and his brother Bruce Moon. He is survived by: his wife Deanna Moon (Guritz) of Windom; his brother Jerry Moon of Windom; his children, Lisa Vernon (Eric) of St. Anthony, Stacey Deery, Scott Zerfas of Las Vegas, NV and David Moon (Diana) of Austin; his stepchildren, Kim Reynolds (David) of Redwood Falls, Lynn Gregory (Karen) of Carver and Tammy Tordson of Redwood Falls; his grandchildren, Shelby Markey (Cole), Ben Vernon, Austin Deery, Eliza Moon, Lydia Moon, Kayla Trembley and Kimberly Hanson; and his stepgrandchildren, Shawn, Chad Tordson, Lita Schoenecker, William, Grant Gregory, Jennifer Currier and Greg Reynolds. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
