He was predeceased by: his parents, John Zondervan and Selma Zondervan (Marcus); and his siblings, Louann Freitag and Arlyn Zondervan. He is survived by: his brothers, Steve Zondervan (Nancy) of Monticello, Craig Zondervan (Sue) of Waite Park and Mark Zondervan (Stacey) of Willmar. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to CentraCare Rice Hospice.
