He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Mayer and Catherine Mayer (Yack). He is survived by: his wife Joanne Hawkinson; his sons, Michael Mayer (Joan) of St. Cloud and Ross Mayer (Amy) of Minnetonka; his grandchildren, Meghan Becker (Ben) and Sam Mayer (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Teddy and Olive; his sister Donna Gilbertson; and his nephew Jeff Gilbertson of Willmar.
Memorials may be given to Calvary Lutheran Church or Rice Hospice.
