He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlene Lafrentz (Gabbert) and Milo Lafrentz; and his grandparents, Louis, Emilie Gabbert, George and Flora Lafrentz.
He is survived by: his sisters, Julie Ellingson of St. Paul, MN and Amy Hoepner (Bruce) of Echo, MN; his nieces, Laura Zuleger (Andrew) of Redwood Falls, MN and Andrea Zieba (Joe) of Ostego, MN; his nephew Eric Ellingson (Mandie) of St. Paul, MN; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Caleb, Jaxon, Henry, Cora and Quinn; his uncle Jim Gabbert; and his aunts, Ethel Gabbert and Bernadine Lafrentz.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A prayer was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (100 North Ave, Echo, MN 56237). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church of Wood Lake (130 3rd St, Wood Lake, MN 56297). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM. A reception was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's kitchen fund.
