He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Herchal and Anna Marie Wilson (Wing); his grandson Adam Wilson; and his daughter-in-law Susan Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Wewetzer; his children, Mark Wilson (Elizabeth) and Marie Wold (Brad); his grandchildren, Sam, Becca Pederson (Eric) and Jake (Emilee); his son Steve Wilson (Cristi); his grandsons, Aaron and Alec (Aimee); his daughter Rita Nazarenus (Erik); his grandchildren, Dennis (Autumn) and Dillon; his siblings, Marvin Wilson of Winona and Doris Dandurand of Klamath Falls, OR.; and also, Daphne, Abbalynn and Doran.

Memorials are preferred to Hawk Creek Animal Shelter.
