He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry August and Vesta Marie Carstens (Ladd); his former wife Pat; and his sister Linda. He is survived by: his wife Jean Carstens of Willmar; his children, Kathryn Wersinger (Lee) of Pennock, Michael Carstens (Angie) of Austin and Victoria Surerus (Brock) of Donnelly; his grandchildren, Nathan Wersinger of Murdock, Amanda Carstens of Albert Lea, Molly Carstens of Austin, Joseph Surerus of Donnelly and Laura Surerus of Sioux Falls, SD; his great grandchildren, Braedan and Dean Wersinger; his stepchildren, Lonny Evenson (Jenn) of Stafford, VA, Kevin Evenson of Kandiyohi, Troy Evenson (Randy) of Robbinsdale, Douglas Evenson (Missy) of Pennock, Brad Evenson (Kristi) of Roseville and Chad Evenson of Willmar; and his sisters, Laura Funke (Donnovan) of Minot, ND, Betty Wolfe of Thousand Oaks, CA and Ann Fitch of Owatonna. He is also survived by 15 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren.
