He was predeceased by: his son Brad Torkelson; his son-in-law Daniel Simon; and his brothers, Arlyn, Myron, Elwood, DeLloyd and Wayne.
He is survived by: his former wife Alice Lingenhaug; his children, Gehard Torkelson (Patricia) of Michigan, Darrell Torkelson (Cody) of Bismarck, ND, Tom Torkelson (Shar) of Litchfield, MN, Klint Torkelson of Willmar, MN, Orin Torkelson (Laurie) of Atwater, MN and Joanne Simon of Stacy, MN; his daughter-in-law Laurie Torkelson; and his brothers, Ronnie Torkelson (Marlys) of Kerkhoven, MN, Elverd Torkelson (Judy) of Willmar, MN, Lowell Torkelson (Barb) of Willmar, MN and Galen Torkelson (Rhonda) of Aitkin, MN. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
