He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mortensen and Evelyn Mortensen (Brown); his siblings, Alice, Edith, Carroll and Clifford; and his daughter-in-law Becky.
He is survived by: his wife Marlis Darlene Schiro; his children, Dale Mortensen (Shelley) of Chaska, Randy Mortensen of Willmar, Rick Mortensen (Deb) of Atwater and Jodie Gulbranson (Gary) of Willmar; and his siblings, Stanley Mortensen of Litchfield, Lloyd Mortensen of Grove City, Richard Mortensen of Buffalo Lake, Mary Raitz of New Ulm, James Mortensen of Buffalo Lake and Lowell Mortensen of Monticello. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
