Darrell David Modica Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Modica of Sioux Falls, SD and Ethel Modica (Hansen); his siblings, Don, Doug and Paulette; his in-laws, Rosalyn, Jerome Sjolie, Arden, Margie Smith, Warren Casper, John DeVries, Stan Brooks, Peggy Modica and Dick Atkins; and also Lillie (Berger).

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Modica (Smith); his daughters, Kim Sawtell (Ron), Dena Modica, Dawn Marcus (Ross) and Karla Ferrin (Ross); his grandchildren, Missy Roth (Mike), Ryan Sawtell (Sam), Aaron Flatten, Luke Sawtell (Riley Jackson), Taylor Marcus (Lindsay), Reyna Johnson (Dalton), Paige Marcus, Marina Marcus, Kayla Sawtell, Spencer Fugita (Preston), Casey Bushard (Darin), Troy Sawtell, Jae Ferrin and Cale Ferrin (Katie); his great grandchildren, Bella Stofey, Jimmy Stofey, Carter Sawtell, Quinn Sawtell, Kade Flatten, Elias Johnson, Stella Sawtell, Luca Sawtell, Zion Hackett, Xavier Hackett, Jax Kaess, Penny Marcus, Noa Marcus, Ziggy Driscoll, RJ Marcus, Marcus Bushard, Vashti Sawtell, Zara Driscoll, Lynnden Bushard, Maren Fugita, Ellis Ferrin and Walker Ferrin; his sisters, Linda Kraft (Robert), Jeanne Brooks and Carol Atkins; and his in-laws, Carolyn Casper, Verlyn DeVries, Eldon Smith (Jami) and Mary Modica.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Refuge Church (1000 6th St SE, Willmar, MN 56201). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
