He was predeceased by: his in-laws, Wayne and Joanne Hayes. He is survived by: his parents, Dale Backhaus and Jo Ann Backhaus (King); his wife Terry Hayes; his children, Casey Myers and Drue Backhaus (Olivia); and his sister Lisa Bruns (David).
Memorials may be given to CentraCare Hospice or Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar.
