Bernard Elko Bulthuis Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 18, 2024, at the age of 93, Bernard Elko Bulthuis of Willmar, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elko Bulthuis and Johanna Bulthuis (Roseland); his son Ross Jon Bulthuis; his siblings, John, Claude, Henry and Emily Poppen; and his brothers-in-law, John (Joan), Harvey Veldhuizen (Ardys) and Norman Grussing.
He is survived by: his wife Gert; his children, Randy Bulthuis (Dori), Rick Bulthuis (Kris) and Renae VanBuren (Danny); his grandchildren, Melissa Dahlberg (Chad), Jordan Bulthuis (Corina), Heather Ruplinger (Adam), Ashley Meslow (Kelly), Janna Punt (Brian), Derrick Bulthuis (Jessica), Jory, Kaden, Trenton and Jaycie Bulthuis; his great grandchildren, Grace Dahlberg, Braden, Gavin Bulthuis, AJ Olson (Jordan Hawkins), Carter, MacKenzie Ruplinger, Paisley, Grey Meslow, Blake, Wyatt, Brooklyn Punt, Maya, Brynli and Grayson Bulthuis; his sister Jennie Mae Wubben; and his siblings-in-law, George Poppen, Lois Grussing, Verla Meyer (Jerry) and Carl Veldhuizen (Joan). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Reformed Church (1237 15th St SW, Willmar, MN 56201). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Roseland Reformed Cemetery (19385 County Rd 5 SW, Blomkest, MN 56216).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity of West Central MN in honor of a life well-lived and well-loved.
