He is survived by: his mother Carole Schmitz of Dave's Bar; his wife Joetta Schmitz; his sons, Erik Schmitz (Samantha), Reed Schmitz and Luke Schmitz (Micah); his grandchildren, Laiken Paisley Schmitz, Gemma Scarlett Schmitz, Cannon David Schmitz, Easton Thomas Schmitz, McCoy Andrew Schmitz and Brewer David Schmitz; his sister Monica Wilson (Doug); his siblings-in-law, Lavonne Doll, Kathleen Wagner (Dan), Katherine Rabel, Janel Reiter (Curt), Lyle Lupkes, Linette Lupkes, Doreen Sherwood (Tom), Jone Anderson (Doyle), Cheryl Garcia (Glenn), Dawn Julson and Jackie Strader (Bruce); and his father-in-law George. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Covenant Church (505 8th St N, Wheaton, MN 56296). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Along with his independent trucking business, his dedication, commitment, and contribution to the Wheaton Dumont Elevator and Vaughn Maudal Truck and Trailer were admired and respected for decades.
