He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Young and Minnie Young (Monson); his son Stephen; his sister Edna Feilen; his siblings-in-law, Bud Klindworth and Kathy Klindworth; his daughter-in-law Beth Young; and his great grandchild Easton Riddle.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Young of Wheaton; his sons, Jeff Young of Norcoss, MN, Mike Young (Angela) of Wheaton and Andy Young (Mary Jo) of Dumont, MN; and his grandchildren, Logan Young, Tyler Young (Christine), Gavin Young (Chelsey), Whitney Klein (Kevin), Kailey Stacken (Brandon), Dustin Young (Destiny), Tana Riddle (Topher) and Brady Young. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
