He was predeceased by: his parents, Earle Sawyer and Alvina Sawyer (Buth); and his sister Beverly Powell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sawyer of Wheaton, MN; his children, Carrie Gauger (Mike) of Columbus, NE, Jill Sawyer of Otsego, MN, Craig Sawyer (Kay) of Melrose, MN and Jeffrey Sawyer (Karen) of Melrose, MN; and his grandchildren, Kelly Gauger (Shannon), Dana Lieberman (Matt), Amber Wachter (Mitch), Brady Grohs, Riley Grohs, Brandon Sawyer (Kelli), Trevor Sawyer (Erika), Gavin Sawyer, MacKenzie Riewer (Patrick), Carter Sawyer (Shelby), Issac Sawyer (Ashton), Gabriel Zylstra (Shane) and Jackson Sawyer. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (605 10th St N, Wheaton, MN 56296). A prayer was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
