He was predeceased by: his father Michael Skare, Sr.; and his grandparents, Morris, Virginia Skare, Patrick and Rose Stadt.

He is survived by: his mother Patricia Skare; his children, LeeAnn Windholz (Jon), Matthew Marcellus (Angela) and Kayla Marcellus (Shayne); his grandchildren, AnnElla and Coy Windholz; his siblings, Mike, Deanna VanderVegt, Bob (Mada) and Steve (Leslie); and his nieces and nephews, Mike VanderVegt (Nikki), Mark Skare (Trish), Zach Skare (Nikki), Amanda Larson (Dustin), Ryan VanderVegt (Angie), Emma Reece (Shawn), Katie Sagan (Nick), Alycia van Rheenen (Erik), Emma Cassman and Katie Skare. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
