He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Pahl and Thelma Pahl; and his son-in-law Larry Brown. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Jeanine Brown, Dan Pahl, Tony Pahl (Michelle), Peggy Schmitz (David), Mary Schwartz (Nick), John Pahl (Melissa), Patti Herme (David) and Matt Pahl (Bessy); and his brother Jim Pahl (Carol). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
