He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Thisius and Myrtle Thisius (Brandt); his sister Jeanette (Dale Johnson); and his sister-in-law Helen Herman. He is survived by: his significant other LaVonne Marie Herman; his children, Deb Tolzmann (Randy) of Wells, MN, David Thisius (Tammie) of St. Charles, MN, Denise Besser (Jeff) of Savage, MN, DeAnne Walters (Doug) of Bloomington, MN, Dennis Thisius (Anita) of Clarks Grove, MN and Donna Meyerink (Brian) of Algona, IA.; his grandchildren, Sarah Hamann (Marc), Jake Tolzmann (Sarah), Jenny Andring, Scott Thisius (LeAnn), Kim Wolf (Mitch), Nick Besser (Kathy), Chad Besser (Kelly), Megan Krecklow (Kyle), Matt Walters (Rachel), Angie Walters, Steph Thisius (Josh Herrboldt), Stacie Rolands (Andy), Steven Thisius (Sophie), Briana Fischer (Kevin) and Dayne Meyerink; his great grandchildren, Emma Hamann, Hayden, Leigha, Jaylee Tolzmann, Jayden Barnick, Taylin Andring, Christopher, Allie, Lucas Thisius, Kaylee, Kyle, Kassidy Wolf, Jack, Harold, Nora Besser, Cole, Kade Besser, Bailey, Carter Krecklow, Kaylin, Isabella Walters, Henry, Sadie Sanders and Rhett Thisius; and his in-laws, John Herman, Jeanette and Jim Wilder.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Casimir Catholic Church (330 2nd Ave SW, Wells, MN 56097). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
*In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shepherd's Inn, Parkview Care Center Activities and UHD Hospice.
