He is survived by: his children, Mark Nelson (Sylvia), Paul Nelson and Tammy Mattson; his grandchildren, Laura Nelson, Zachary Nelson (Lindsey), Erik Mattson (Madalyn), David Mattson, Allicyn Nelson and John Nelson; and his great grandchild Jade. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.
