He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Skeslien and Bertha Skeslien (Olson); his son Merle "Dug" Denzer; his sister Elaine; his brother-in-law Don Janssen; and his mother-in-law Leone Berthiaume.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his sister Laverne Reining (Clem); his daughter-in-law Dar Denzer; his grandchildren, Pam Ochs (Dave), Patty Denzer, Scott Denzer (Laureen), Cheryl Niebur (Mark) and Craig Denzer (Mary); his siblings-in-law, Michael Berthiaume (Linda), Eleanore Berthiaume, Leone Anderson, Rose Rasset (Kevin) and Pam Kummer; and his nephew Mike Reining. He is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.
