Clayton Lorentz Diskerud Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clayton Lorentz Diskerud of Waverly, Minnesota, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who passed away on October 22, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Helma Diskerud (Nelson) and David Diskerud; his brother Warren Diskerud; and his sister-in-law Rebecca Diskerud. He is survived by: his friends, Shirley, Ebony and Cryptogram; his wife Shirley Diskerud (Eller); his children, William Diskerud (Mary) and Debra Hatanpa (Randy); his grandchildren, Lauren Doolan (Brian), Nicholas Diskerud (Alexa), Kaitlyn Diskerud, Matthew Hatanpa (Amy), Micka Sieve (AJ), Corey Hatanpa and Chad Hatanpa; his brother David Diskerud (Alfreda); his sister-in-law Darlene Bueker; and his cousin June Parsons (Michael). He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces, 3 nephews, and many friends.
A two-year cancellation of the Games due to Covid, and the return of his cancer in 2021 ended Clayton's participation in the Senior Games, but not before he tallied an impressive medal count: 4 bronze, 5 silver and a whopping 23 gold.
