He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Vail and Jessie Vail (McMillen); his son Bradley John Vail; and his siblings, Neil Vail, Bernice Sheehy and Ruth Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Eunice Engebretson; his children, Dr. Lyle Vail (Queensland) of Lizard Island and Valerie Vail of Waterville; his grandson Dr. Alexander Vail of Australia; and his siblings-in-law, Elda Vail of Ramona, CA, Ramona Wilkening of Janesville, Gwen and Robert Johnson of Waseca. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
