He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Janda and Christine Janda (Schwartz); his wife Nellie; his brother George; and his son-in-law Chuck Dodgen.
He is survived by: his children, Corinne Dodgen of Rosemount, Connie Abrahamson (Dave) of Sherburn and Cathy Cheever (Chuck) of Hansville, WA; his grandchildren, Amanda, Christena, Joseph, Jessica and Abigail; and his brothers, Francis of Chanhassen and Leroy of Moorhead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Waterville Fire Department.
