He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Volkmann and Clara Volkmann (Roeker); his wife Edna; and his siblings, Shirley Winter, Arlene Williams, Victor Volkman and Raymond Volkman.
He is survived by: his children, Lynda Goerisch (Mike) of Robbinsdale, Norman Volkmann (Rita) of Janesville, Gerald Volkman (Jennifer) of Eagan, Brenda Tonn (Daniel) of Elysian, Jeffrey Volkmann (Susan) of Liberty, MO and Larry Volkmann (Cheryl) of Bloomington; his brothers-in-law, Doug Winter of Blooming Prairie and William "Bud" Williams of Hibbing; and also Bell. He is also survived by grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
