He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Herman Hugo and Erna Lucille Proechel (Scholljegerdes); his wife Joan Rosenthal; his son Perry Proechel; and his sister Betty.
He is survived by: his children, Lonnie Proechel (Mary Petersen) of Waseca, Todd Proechel (Joyce) of Waseca, Scott Proechel (Lori) of Owatonna and DeeAnn Kamara (Troy Howard) of Minneapolis; his brother Merlyn Proechel (Bonnie) of Waseca; and his siblings-in-law, Darryl and Carol Rosenthal of Waseca. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service (109 3rd St NE, Waseca, MN 56093). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St Paul Lutheran Church - LCMS (314 4th Ave NE, Waseca, MN 56093). A burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at the Woodville Cemetery.
