He was predeceased by: his parents, Enoch Root and Irene Root (O'Riley); his wife Beverly Mittelsteadt; his great grandchild Isaac Flintrop; and his siblings, Leta Clemons and Lyndel Root.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Root (Sherry), Brenda Byron (Jim), Brian Root (Rose Kaiser) and Blaine Root of Waseca; and his siblings, Leona Wenzel of Waseca, Lester Root (Minnie) of Waseca, Leland Root of Waseca and Lyle Root (Sharon) of Waseca. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
