He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Flaten and Lillian Flaten (Grinstad); and his brother-in-law Arnold Blasing of Pine Island. He is survived by: his wife Donna of Waseca; his children, Pam Born (Dennis) of Farmington, Claudia Wobschall (Dane) of Farmington, Andrea Flaten-Peter of Farmington, Jeffrey Flaten (Mary) of Savage, Larry Flaten (Barbara) of Janesville and Christopher Flaten of Fridley; his sister Phyllis Horejsi (Arnold) of Lonsdale; and also Ginger Blasing. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Janesville Nursing Home or donor's choice.
