He was predeceased by: his parents, William Demmer and Lillian Demmer (Preiss); his wife Dorothy Demmer; and his son Alan Demmer. He is survived by: his daughter Diane Hitzemann (Gary) of New Ringgold, PA; his grandchildren, Alison, Alena, Rhys, Greta and Sayer; his son Randy Demmer (Kathy) of Hayfield, MN; his grandchildren, Lauren, Ann and Margeaux; his daughter Linnae Sathre (James) of Waconia, MN; his grandchildren, Connor, Lindsey, Ryan, Garrett and Brooks Demmer; and his sisters, Arlys Haug (Richard) of Albert Lea, MN and Devonna Olson (Gerald) of Amery, WI..
