It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert J. Schmitt of Waite Park, Minnesota, who passed away on December 6, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schmitt and Margaret Schmitt (Doubek); and his siblings, Alvin, Richard Schmitt (Marie), Henry "Hank" Schmitt (Ceil), Elmer "Bud" Schmitt (Arlene), Ester Kotschevar (Benjamin), Martha Lodermeier (Bob), Mary Brinker (Dick) and Margaret "Margie" Heimerl (Dennis).
He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Schmitt (Freese); his children, Patricia Ann Schmitt, Paul Schmitt and Rachelle Schmitt; his siblings, Dennis Schmitt (Alice), Irene Rennie, Emma Dullinger and Carol Rodekuhr; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Brinker (Dick) and Dennis Heimerl. He is also survived by sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
While serving his country he joined the Knights of Columbus, the largest global charity organization in the world! They promote charity, fraternity, unity and brotherhood-with an emphasis on how to be the best Dad you can be to your family as a faithful Catholic man.
