She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Maier and Anna Maier (Otremba); her husband George Schmitz; her son Richard; and her siblings, Alvira Schwinghammer, James Maier and Kathy Rosa.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Schmitz (Nancy) of Sartell, Ken Schmitz of New London and Patti Kaler (Curt) of Lakeville; her daughter-in-law Pat Schmitz of St. Cloud; and her siblings, Laura Rau, Millie Felling, Edward Maier (Helen), Abe Maier (Carol), Sherry Wieber (Don) and Maxine Goebel (Vern). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
