He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Kern and Mathilda Kern (Vorderbruggen); his wife Joan Katherine Kern (Marden); his son John; his siblings, Kenneth, Perry, Jeanette Dickey and Roger; and his sons-in-law, Calvin Anderson, Tim Kenyon and Troy Bowles.
He is survived by: his children, Victoria Thompson (James), Annette Manzano, Paulette Anderson, Yvonne Stewart (Lowell), Joseph Kern (Linda), Anthony Kern (Jenny), Douglas Kern (Sue), Melissa Kenyon, Christina Kenyon (Thomas), Victor M Kern Jr., Janelle Bowles, Margaret Trout (Russell) and Paul Kern; and his siblings, Marilyn Swanson and Elroy Kern. He is also survived by 110 grandchildren.
