We are sad to announce that on May 18, 2021, at the age of 81, Patricia Lou Schmitz of Wadena, Minnesota, born in Oelwein, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Orval Soper and Merial Soper (Harkin); her siblings, Betty, Connie, Marion and Ronald; and her grandchildren, Laura and Matthew.

She is survived by: her husband Peter Schmitz of Wadena, MN; and her children, Eugene Schmitz (Vonnie) of St. Francis, MN, Jodi Vance (Steve) of Dennison, MN, Angela Grooms of Casa Grande, AZ, Michael Strawn (Becky) of Gilman, IA, Janice Palmer (Lyle) of Manchester, IA and Duane Strawn of Iowa City, IA. She is also survived by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
