He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Savela and Laura Savela (Lindula); his wife Karen Kuha; his sons, David and Shannon; his nephew Levi Savela; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Kosola, Carl Rintamaki and Joseph Hensel.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Trenton Savela of Detroit Lakes, MN, Kaylee Savela of Menahga, MN, Kendra Snook of Sebeka, MN and Vyolette Lysne of Menahga, MN; and his siblings, Lucy Karvonen (Roger) of Wolf Lake, MN, Jane Kosola of Menahga, MN, Lorna Rintamaki of Ishpeming, MI, Curtis Savela (Doreen) of Sebeka, MN, Natalie Hensel of Sebeka, MN and Jayson Savela (Amy) of Sebeka, MN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Karvonen Funeral Home ~ Wadena (419 2nd St NE, Wadena, MN 56482). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
