He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Coson and Margaret Coson (Jost); his brother Raymond; his stepbrother Arthur Gedde; his daughter-in-law Patty Coson; and his great grandchildren, Libby Belvill, Garett Lane and Keagan Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Borchardt (Smith) of Wadena; his children, Gary Coson of Detroit Lakes, Dawn Pettit (Mike) of Dent and Debbie Larson (Leroy) of Pelican Rapids; his brother Wally Coson of Wadena; his stepbrother Clayton Gedde of Vancouver, WA; and his stepchildren, Barb Wenzler (Bob) of Florida, Roxanne Soukup (Fred) of Pequot Lakes, Michael Borchardt (Brenda) of Big Lake, Pam Malone (Jim) of Milaca and Tim Borchardt of Minneapolis. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Due to covid-19 the family has chosen to not have a visitation to keep their family and friends safe.
