He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Bury and Elizabeth Bury (Swartzer); his son Andrew Bury; and his father-in-law Henry Stern (Phyllis). He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his daughters, Elissa Stoeckman (Darrin) of Watertown, Tess Smith (Duane) of Howard Lake and Amber Bury of Bemidji; his grandchildren, Brayden Bury, Rebekah Stoeckman, Eliyah Stoeckman and Evan Smith; his siblings, Darlene Mader (Larry) of Howard Lake, Gary Bury (Brenda) of Montrose, Greg Bury (Brenda) of New Germany and Deb Allison (Jeff) of Waconia; and his brothers-in-law, Kim Helmbrecht of Winsted and Mike Stern (Pam) of Chaska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Mayer Lutheran High School, Christ Community Lutheran School in Watertown, or St. James Lutheran School in Howard Lake.
