He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Westberg Malotky; his parents, Herbert John and Gertrude Augusta Amanda (Schulz); his siblings-in-law, Grace Doty, Martha Westberg, John Leslie, Paul Westberg, Daniel Westberg, Jack Doty, Bill Johnson, Rolf Husby and Ben Misch; and his granddaughter Erin Engelstad.
He is survived by: his sisters, Elizabeth G. Husby and Thekla P. Misch; his sisters-in-law, Sylvia A. Leslie and Mary M. Westberg; his children, Catherine A. Malotky (David Engelstad), Richard A. Malotky (Ann), Janet L. Malotky (Steve Dietz), Mary B. Malotky (Cory Carlson), John C. Malotky (Diann Crane) and Daniel J. Malotky (Michele); and his grandchildren, Cara (Gabe), Abbie (Kenzie), Max (Kristine), Kim (Jason), Keel (Grace), Birch (Nick), Søren, Jane (Luke), Megan, Nicole, Martin and Simon (Jenn). He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
