He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Appel and Elizabeth Appel (Stodden); and his siblings, Lois, LaVern, Ray and Leonard.
He is survived by: his son Dylan of Wabasso; his siblings, James of Lake Benton, Robert of Lake Benton, Gary (Shelly) of New Franklin, Donald of Cape Coral, Florida, Grace Odens of Maple Grove and Marian Carpenter (Gerry) of Dawson; and his sisters-in-law, Sheila of Hendricks, Abby of Ivanhoe and Helen of Holland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
