He was predeceased by: his parents, George Turbes and Anna Turbes (Schilling); his wife Helena Spevacek; his sisters, Teresa Groebner, Agnes Turbes and Margaret Kalbfell; and his granddaughter Ana Marie Senkyr.
He is survived by: his children, George Turbes (Christine) of Redwood Falls, Joseph Turbes (Teya) of Castle Wood, SD, Cecilia Senkyr (Robert) of Franklin, Michael Turbes of Post Falls, ID, Mark Turbes (Julia) of Boerne, TX, Patricia U'Ren (Peter) of Redwood Falls, Mary Stromseth (Darwin) of Watertown, SD, James Turbes (Sandra) of Wood Lake, Rosanne Levi (Pablo) of St. Paul and John Turbes of Redwood Falls. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the St. Anne's Catholic Church (950 North St, Wabasso, MN 56293). Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Japanese Martyrs (30881 Co Rd 24, Sleepy Eye, MN 56085). A requiem service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:31 PM at the St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery (31203 180th St, Sanborn, MN 56083).
