He is survived by: his former wife Genevieve McCarthy; his children, Eileen (Steven Swanson), Sarah (Mark Gilbertson), Larry (Holly Theismann) and Paul Theismann of Wabasha, MN; his grandchildren, Terry, Stacy, John and Drew; his great grandchildren, Rylie, Payton, Brayden, Isiah and Ensley; his sister Jeanie Steffen (Milo) of Remer, MN; and his sister-in-law Mary McCarthy of Caledonia, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
