He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Reed and Rose Reed (Sarkela); his wife Ruth Luhta; his children, Dennis Reed and Susan Malenius; his sisters, Mae Gross and Margaret Haasl; and his grandson Chad Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Reed (Darcy) of Esko, MN, Stanley Reed (Roxanne) of St Paul, MN, Dan Reed (Sue) of Virginia, MN and Pam Kotys (Chris) of Virginia, MN; his children-in-law, Dave Malenius of Gold Canyon, AZ and Peggy Reed of Moorhead, MN; his grandchildren, Shawn Reed (Julie), Kris Parendo (Phil), Jason Reed (Selena), Angela Reed, Dana Reed (Kate), Sarah Reed Wolfe (Jason), Katie Reed (Jeff), Mindy Malenius (Sven), Josh Malenius (Jamie), Mark Malenius (Erin), Nick Reed, Charlie Kaufman, Ashley Hufnagle and Spencer Kotys; and his brother Donald Reed (Beverly) of Hermantown, MN.. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (6959 MN-169, Virginia, MN 55792). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
