She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Hines and Viola Hines (Payne); her husband Mark Kern; her brother Carl Hines; and her sister-in-law Zona Hines.
She is survived by: her children, Duane Kern of Blue Grass, Dean Kern (Kristi) of New York Mills, Virginia Gapinski of Litchfield and Rachell Willis (Nick) of Verndale; and her siblings, Art Hines (Cathy) of Omaha, Diana Tjaden of Fergus Falls, Dale Hines of Motley and Marcia Colvin (Cecil) of Sierra Vista, AZ. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
