He was predeceased by: his father Simon; his siblings-in-law, Carol Raye Nelson, Randy Kolb and Thomas Kulas; his nephew Michael Sharp; and his niece Julianna Kolb.
He is survived by: his spouse Marlette Hoxmeier (Nelson); his sons, Dr. Nicholas Nelson (Rose Anne) and Dr. Joseph Simon (Erin); his siblings, Helen Kulas, Elizabeth Dienhart (Paul), William Hoxmeier (Judy) and Theodore Hoxmeier (Terry); and his sister-in-law Katherine Kolb (Nelson). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
It was there that the foundation was laid for a life of strong family values.
