With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leona Celia Smieja Burggraff-Borg of Upsala, Minnesota, born in Royalton, Minnesota, who passed away on December 8, 2022 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Smieja and Rose Smieja (Fussy); her husbands, Ralph Burggraff Sr. and Norman Borg; her son Tom Burggraff; her grandchildren, Sara Burggraff and Jason Burggraff; her siblings, Dorothy Kuklok, Mary Ann Borg and Philip Smieja, Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Doris Burggraff.
She is survived by: her children, Ralph "Butch" Burggraff, Jr. (Carolyn) of Centerville, Elmer Burggraff (Denise) of Moose Lake, Dan Burggraff (Julie) of Upsala and Marlene Lange (Kenneth) of Upsala; her daughter-in-law Janice Burggraff of Rogers; her stepchildren, Michael Borg of Clear Lake, Wisconsin and Karlene Olsen (Lynn) of Lake Elmo; and her sisters, Josephine Czech of Brainerd, Louise Kroll of Coon Rapids, Clara Zimmerman of Royalton and Janet Popp of Mayhew Lake. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great step grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
