He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Johnson and Gertrude Johnson (Reger); his siblings, Leone, Donna, Mary Lou, Angie, Flavian, David, Wallace and Ronald; his wife Dory Johnson; and his stepchildren, Linda, Sandy and Scott.
He is survived by: his children, Terry of Minneapolis, Lisa of Minneapolis and Darin of Minneapolis; his stepchildren, Cindy Allen (Cliff) of Underwood and Rick Zahnow (Jo Ann) of Fergus Falls; and his brothers, Rodney Johnson (Dorothy) of Cambridge and Dennis Johnson of Underwood. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
