He was predeceased by: his father Arnold Opsahl; his wife Doris Hagen; and his siblings-in-law, Elmer, Mabel Hagen and Duane Hagen.

He is survived by: his mother Eleanor Opsahl (Onsum); his children, Beth Opsahl of Underwood, Heidi Voeller (Michael) of Rugby and Mark Opsahl (Danielle) of Underwood; his grandchildren, Hailey, Luke Voeller and Ella Opsahl; and his siblings, Joyce Norgren (Andy), Harold Opsahl (Debbie) and David Opsahl (Lou Ann). He is also survived by several nephews, nieces.
